Rail is one of the oldest industries in the world, which has developed a unique language that is specific to a geographic location or rail operator. With the increase in investment in rail, there is a large demand on the current rail workforce leading to an increase in rail related recruitment and an increase in relocating the existing rail workforce.

The Challenge

One of the challenges the industry faces is onboarding people with this unique language. To assist with this challenge our team has developed a smart device app and website.

The Solution

The RailM8 team has developed a prototype app and a basic database as a proof of concept. It aims to be a tool which:

• Is easy to use
• Is accessible to all
• Helps to reduce disruption
• Helps to break down the silos
• Is a single source of truth
• Captures and shares rail knowledge
